Design No: LECCR: "LASER-ETCHED CARIBOU CUBE"

Cool lead crystal cube with 3-D depiction of a caribou, better known to us as a Reindeer, inside. The one pictured is a probably a male, but both males and females in this species have antlers, although those of the females aren't as pronounced as those of the males. In North America, this creature is one of our most migratory mammals. They feed on lichens, mushrooms, grasses, sedges, green plants, twigs, fruit, and even dropped antlers! Speaking of feeding, these creatures have also been food for the natives (humans) of the far North. These cubed caribou, however not on the menu! These pretty crystal cubes measures approximately 1 1/2 inches by 1 1/2 inches by 1 1/2 inches on all sides. The mysteriously laser-carved figure inside is visible from all angles, and is quite a piece of artwork. The cube comes pre-boxed for gift giving, and is quite a conversation piece. It weighs about 6 ounces, unboxed.

One image depicts the cube as it stands naturally on its bottom, and is a side view of the beast, while the other shows a semblance of what it would look like if viewed from the front. Very interesting!

We did not create this item, and the manufacturer didn't tell us how the artist engraved this image inside without any residual glass etchings present, so we don't know how it was done, but it is quite curious. This may be the question of the hour....'how did they do that????' Do you have an explanation?????
